Central Zone Cross Country 2023

August 11, 2023

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ What a day it was at the 2023 central zone cross-country event!

Hosted by Paparore School, schools within the central zone gathered at Johnny Jones farm, just a skip away from the Waiapapakauri ramp in the beautiful rohe of Ngāi Takoto.

Boys and girls gave their all in separate races, with age groups from 5 to 12 years old.

🏆 Congratulations to all the tamariki who gave their all to cross the finish line and to the top 10 placegetters aged 8 and up, who are now gearing up for the Far North Primary Schools inter-zone championships in Peria.

The sun was shining, but that brisk wind added an extra challenge. 💨

Guiding the way, Tumuaki John 'Sir' Windleborn infused his signature warm-ups, drills, and straightforward instructions.

Witnessing the unity of whānau and hapori rallying together to support the tamariki who took part today was truly inspiring.
